Remote Education: A Guide for Parents & Carers

At Corinthian, our priority is ensuring that your child’s learning remains consistent, engaging, and supported—even when they cannot be with us in the classroom. This guide outlines how we deliver remote education and how we can work together to help your child succeed.

What to Expect from Remote Learning

Our remote curriculum is designed to mirror the high-quality education provided on-site. Each day, your child will receive:

  • Core Subject Lessons: Focused daily sessions in English, Maths, and Reading.

  • Foundation Subjects: A variety of topic-based work and creative activities.

  • Teacher-Led Instruction: A blend of live sessions and pre-recorded lessons.

  • Interactive Tools: Access to specialised online resources to sharpen their skills.

  • Progress Feedback: Regular teacher check-ins and feedback on work submitted.

Establishing a Productive Routine

Maintaining a sense of "normalcy" is key to a child's focus. We provide structured daily schedules that balance academic rigor with physical health. A typical day includes:

  1. Direct Instruction: Live or recorded lessons.

  2. Independent Tasks: Practical activities to apply new knowledge.

  3. Wellbeing Breaks: Dedicated time for physical activity and mental rest.

How You Can Support at Home

While our teachers lead the learning, your encouragement makes all the difference. You can support your child by:

  • Helping them stick to the provided daily schedule.

  • Ensuring they have a quiet space to access online lessons.

  • Checking in on their progress and reaching out to teachers if they are struggling.

Inclusion & Special Educational Needs (SEND)

We understand that remote learning can be challenging for children with additional needs. We are committed to providing tailored support and adapted resources to ensure every pupil can access the curriculum successfully and confidently.

Online Safety & Security

To keep our community safe, we use vetted, secure platforms including Google Meet, Century, and Quizizz. While these platforms are monitored, we ask parents to:

  • Supervise your child’s internet usage.

  • Adhere to our school’s Online Safety Guidance.

  • Remind children of the importance of being "Digital Citizens."

Staying Connected

We are more than just a classroom; we are a community. Our staff will check in regularly to provide guidance, motivation, and a friendly face. If you have any questions about remote learning, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher directly.
